Part of the world’s oldest and largest youth charities – the YMCA – has chosen Crown Workforce Management to deliver its new staff time and attendance, rostering and activity management system.
The YMCA, on the Fylde Coast, in Lancashire, employs between 450 and 750 staff, depending on seasonality, to manage a range of services for young people including housing, outdoor and physical activity.
The organisation is currently using a manual paper-based system which requires a significant amount of time and effort to undertake the monthly payroll process. The process can be very time-consuming as it requires any anomalies having to be raised in person by the employee and their manager and has no element of automisation.
Representatives from YMCA first met Crown at the CIPD exhibition in Manchester last year, and the contract has now been awarded following a rigorous selection process.
David Hughes, Crown’s Head of Marketing said:
“We are delighted to be working with the YMCA and feel certain that our system will help improve its processes and free-up time to allow staff to undertake more of the essential work that they provide for the community.”
Sarah Smith, Senior HR Project Manager for YMCA said:
“We are confident that the Crown system will help us eliminate errors in the payroll process and reduce the administration around staff rostering which can be particularly complex due to seasonal demands, the varied nature of contracts and the roles that staff undertake.”
